divh2Law Clerk I/h2pCGS is seeking a Law Clerk to join our team supporting the legal mission of a large federal agency. This position will allow candidates to demonstrate expertise in providing litigation support tasks like cite checking, document review, legal research, and numerous other relevant tasks. Here at CGS, we offer an environment in which our employees feel supported, and we encourage professional growth through various learning opportunities./ppSkills and attributes for success:/pulliWorks under the direction of a Project Supervisor or Project Manager./liliPerforms complex legal research for the trial staff./liliAssists in preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, etc./liliReviews and conducts research for ROI (Release of Information)/liliReviews new cases and conducts research of pertinent laws/liliEdits previously submitted final decisions and writes/researches legal opinions on newest case/liliEdits and reviews cases for issuance/liliResponds to citizen letters/liliReviews AMICUS briefs/liliBriefs attorneys regarding legal issues, theories and draft statement of facts./liliAssisting attorneys with all phases of litigation./liliCite checking via online legal research tools (Westlaw and Lexis) and blue book./li/ulpQualifications:/pulliRequires Juris Doctor (JD) degree, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study or, an equivalent level of legal training or experience or an equivalent level of education may be substituted./liliRequires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources./liliThorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw./liliExtensive experience with cite checking and blue book./liliExperience performing complex legal research./liliMust have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging./liliAbility to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure./liliIdeally, you will also have:/liulliExperience working in a Government and/or Litigation Support environment in conjunction with basic qualifications, preferred./liliExperience with Relativity, strongly preferred and should be referenced within resume./liliPublication of legal writings highly preferred./liliParticipation in Law Review highly preferred./liliCurrent or active clearance./li/ul/ulpOur commitment: Contact Government Services (CGS) strives to simplify and enhance government bureaucracy through the optimization of human, technical, and financial resources.
