Lasting Support Trustee Chris Wild Speaks out on LBC about Grooming Gang Scandal
Lasting Support trustee Chris Wild has worked with LBC on a report into claims of a Metropolitan Police Officer and his involvement with a London paedophile ring. Chris Wild is Lasting Support’s trustee for Lived Experience and Voices due to his work as a campaigner and activist to promote safer environments for young people and children, particularly those in or who have been involved in care. At Lasting Support, we will continue to support care leavers and advocate on their behalf, ensuring that our therapeutic services are open to all with a lived experience of care.
In this interview, Chris discusses the need for better funding for public care homes due to the increase in privatisation, which has created gaps in the system that allow such manipulation and criminal behaviour. According to LBC, the case of the officer under fire was “brushed under the carpet” and “covered up.
