Lasting Support working alongside MOPAC for The Shared Endeavour Fund
Last week, MOPAC (Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime) published a video updating on the progress of this year’s Shared Endeavour Fund, for which Lasting Support is a proud partner organisation. The fund has helped us bring our Sporting Souls programme to more young people across the boroughs of Ealing and Hackney. It has also enabled us to create a sister programme for teenage girls that focuses on building resilience to extremism and grooming by promoting shared values, critical thinking, and emotional strength amongst young people who may be vulnerable. Through a unique blend of physical activity, mentoring, and therapeutic reflection, Sporting Souls helps young people manage emotions, strengthen identity, and find belonging in positive, healthy ways.
Since 2020, the Shared Endeavour Fund has supported grassroots civil society projects that counter the spread of extremism and radicalisation in the capital, alongside empowering Londoners to stand up to hate and intolerance. The Shared Endeavour Fund is administered by Groundwork, a federation of charities working nationally and locally to transform lives, often in the UK’s most disadvantaged communities. The video details the supporting organisations across London that work to tackle hate, intolerance and radicalisation head-on. More than 190,000 Londoners have benefited from the Fund, with more than £4.8m invested since its inception.
